Research Coordinator II

Working in close collaboration with partners in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Pacific Coral Disturbance Coordinator will provide increased capacity, technical support, and coordination to coral disturbance response planning efforts. The Coordinator will work from a remote location in one of the four U.S. Pacific coral jurisdictions (Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands).
Capacity Building and Strategic Support for Pacific Preparedness and Response Planning
Work closely with jurisdiction emergency response coordinators, managers, and other stakeholders to understand current capacity for planning and response, the status of specific response plans, and jurisdiction-specific needs.ccc
Building Partnerships and Enhancing Regional Coordination
Engage with NOAA’s Disaster Preparedness Program to provide technical expertise to support response planning efforts.
Support for Communication, Awareness, and Community Engagement
Work with jurisdictional partners to create and disseminate relevant outreach materials for stakeholder groups as appropriate. Facilitate the translation of materials as needed. Disseminate broadly via a variety of networks to ensure access among a broad group of stakeholders.

Expected Salary: $50,000
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
