War in the Pacific National Historical Park is hiring three Interns/Research Associates to work with our Natural Resource Program. Projects include controlling invasive brown tree snakes with the eventual goal of restoring native birds, maintaining a coral nursery for reef restoration, conducting reef flat surveys, and working with students and community volunteer on conservation initiatives.
NPS is advertising positions through two programs - the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and the Research Corporation of the University of Guam (RCUOG).
SCA interns receive a stipend of $633/week, an educational award of $7,395, and Public Land Corps eligibility. The Public Lands Corps non-competitive hiring authority allows you to apply for permanent federal positions with the NPS and other land management agencies. It is a great option for those planning on continuing their education or working in federal conservation positions.
RCUOG Research Associates receive pay of $18.23/hour with no educational or PLC award.
You are welcome to apply to both.
Applications Due: November 24, 2024 Start date: January 13, 2025 (flexible start date)
